Walk through Sweet Auburn and explore Atlanta’s Civil Rights history on a focused two-and-a-half-hour experience centered on the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. The tour visits the exteriors of important landmarks including Ebenezer Baptist Church and the King Center area, while also connecting travelers with the King and John Lewis offices and a historic Madam C.J. Walker salon.

The experience is designed around the neighborhood itself, allowing travelers to understand history through the streets, buildings, and places where it unfolded. The tour does not enter the King Birth Home or Old Ebenezer Baptist Church, so visitors should view it as a guided exterior-focused experience rather than an interior attraction tour. It meets and ends at the National Historic Site and operates rain or shine. Transportation is not provided.

For travelers interested in Atlanta’s history, Black heritage, and Civil Rights legacy, this walking tour provides an opportunity to slow down, listen, observe, and connect the city’s present-day streets with its important past.
